Throughout the current economic crisis, Senator Labhrás Ó Murchú has contended in the Seanad that this was a time for all to unite for the greater good irrespective of political expediency and partisanship. The public, particularly those who suffer the most, expect and deserve a positive and patriotic approach towards our present problems.

We also know that because of the contribution which we have made towards helping other countries in the past we enjoy a relatively non-hostile international environment. However, the message which we send abroad must not be a divisive or mischievous one.”
